Established in: 1749 Located: 1 km from Swargate. Daily footfalls at the temple: Over 500 visitors.

Parvati is the hillock in Pune, India; the second highest point in Pune premises (after Vetal Hill), with 103 steps. The hillock rises up to 2,100 feet (640 m) above sea level. Atop the hillock is the Parvati Temples, which are one of the most scenic locations in Pune. The temple is the oldest heritage structure in Pune and was built in the Peshwa Dynasty rule. It is used as an observation spot for visitors of the panorama of Pune. It offers an aerial view of the city and for the Punekars, it is a respite from the noise and pollution of city life.

The black quarry stone steps are tread regularly by joggers every morning and have been more than 250 years, showing minimal wear and tear. For many, the ascension to the temple may be stressful and tedious for the steep climbing, but what lies atop is worth the efforts. There are in-numerous records for the number of times people have climbed and got down this hill in a go.

The main temple, Devdeveshwara, is made of black stone. It was completed under Nanasaheb Peshwa, in 1749. Other temples are dedicated to Vitthal and Rukmini, Vishnu, and Kartikeya. The Peshwas had also installed a silver statue of Shiva and two gold statues of Parvati and Ganesha; of which the gold statues were stolen in 1932 and were hence replaced by brass replicas.

Parvati Hill has 5 temples atop it: Devdeveshwar temple (Shiva and Parvati), Kartikeya Temple, Vishnu Temple, Vitthal Temple, Rama Temple. The Temples open at 5:00 am and close at 8:00 pm.

Other than the temples, there is the Peshwa Museum. The samadhi of Nanasaheb Peshwa lies here where he lived his last days. Parvati water supply tanks supply water to half of Pune.
